    Sheriff’s Report
    Kirk M. Taylor, 30, Chester, was arrested March 8, 2010 by Chester Police for driving suspended. Released after posting $100 cash bond.
    William R. Babb, 37, Greensburg, KY, was arrested March 8, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for DUI. Is incarcerated.
    Glyn A. Pritchard, 21, Chester, was arrested March 8, 2010 by Chester Police for failure to wear seatbelt, possession of cannabis & possession of drug paraphernalia. Released after posting $100 cash bond.
    Franklin D. Brawdy, 26, Chester, was arrested March 9, 2010 by Chester Police on a Perry County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Bond is $10,000. Is incarcerated.
    Tyler J. Glass, 22, Fargo, ND, was arrested March 9, 2010 by Sparta Police for criminal damage to property. Is incarcerated.

    James A. Middendorf, 43, Red Bud, was arrested March 11, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for domestic battery. Is incarcerated.
    Bill J. Hood 39, Coulterville, arrested March 11, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for domestic battery & criminal trespass to residence. Is incarcerated.
    Asante A. Monroe, 26, Sparta, was arrested March 11, 2010 by Sparta Police for obstructing peace officer. He is also wanted out of Perry County on a Body Attachment for contempt. Bond on the body attachment is $3,000 cash. Is incarcerated.
    Keith E. Donnell, 33, Chester, was arrested March 11, 2010 by Chester Police for obstructing justice. Is incarcerated.
    Bradley M. Miller, 21, Cutler, was arrested March 12, 2010 by Illinois State Police for DUI & speeding. Released after posting $100 cash bond & a valid driver’s license.
    Tiffany E. Duffey, 20, Perryville, MO, was arrested March 12, 2010 by Chester Police for DUI, improper lane usage, improper parking on roadway & illegal transportation of alcohol. Released after posting $300 cash bond.
    Matthew A. Hamilton, 18, Chester, was arrested March 12, 2010 by Chester Police on a Randolph County warrant for aggravated criminal sexual assault. Bond is $10,000. Is incarcerated.
    Tyler T. Heiken, 17, Red Bud, was arrested March 13, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for DUI & failure to reduce speed/accident. Released after posting $100 cash bond & a valid driver’s license.
    Jonathan H. Homrighausen, 20, Red Bud, was arrested March 13, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for DUI & illegal transportation of alcohol. Released after posting $100 cash bond & a valid driver’s license.
    Eric W. Branson, 39, Saint Helen, MI, was arrested March 14, 2010 by Sparta Police for DUI, uninsured vehicle & improper license plate display. Released after posting $300 cash bond.
    Rachael S. Holt, 36, Sparta, was arrested March 14, 2010 by Sparta Police for criminal damage to property. Released after posting $200 cash bond.
    Gregory L. Christopher, 47, Percy, was arrested March 14, 2010 by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for resisting & criminal damage to property. Is incarcerated.

    On 3-07-10 Cecil D. Underhile, 21, of Ellis Grove, IL, was involved in an accident at Schuline Rd. & Veath Rd.  Underhile stated that he was eastbound on Schuline Rd. and fell asleep.  He then ran off the roadway and struck a metal Union Pacific Railroad pole & signal lights.
    Jackson County
    Sheriff’s Report
    The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary to the “Bottoms Up Tavern” located at 3683 Neunert Rd., Jacob, IL.  Sometime during the late evening hours of March 14th or early morning hours of March 15th, suspects forcibly entered the business.  Taken from the business was the cash register, the ATM machine belonging to the First National Bank of Ava and some bottles of liquor.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 618-684-2177.
    On Sunday, March 14, 2010, at 1:14 a.m., Jeremy Rettig, 28, and Kathy Griffin, 33, both of Percy, were walking north along IL Route 4, about 2 miles north of Ava, when a northbound vehicle struck them.  The vehicle did not stop and left the scene.
    Jackson County Ambulance Service transported both pedestrians to St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.  Griffin was later transported by ambulance to St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
    Following the media release on Sunday morning, Arlen Thies, age 49, of Campbell Hill, contacted the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 8 a.m. after seeing media coverage of the accident.  Thies reported that after seeing the news reports, he realized he was the driver of the vehicle that struck Jeremy Rettig and Kathy Griffin as they walked along Rt. 4 north of Ava.  Thies’ Chevrolet truck was positively identified as the vehicle involved in the crash.  The incident remains under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
    Perry County
    Sheriff’s Report
    On Sunday, March 14, at approximately 12:47 p.m., the Perry County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a female subject in Winkle.  The call stated that she believed her roommate was dead and needed help.
    The Pinckneyville Ambulance Service and Perry County Deputies responded to the residence located at the Bell Tower Apartments in Winkle.  Discovered was a Rhonda Johnson (55) of Coulterville.  Johnson was pronounced deceased at the apartment by Perry County Coroner Paul Searby a short time later.
    The Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the death as a possible overdose.  An investigation is continuing.
    On 03-08-10 Derrick L. Schniedeke, 29, of Pinckneyville, IL, was arrested for Domestic Battery on a signed complaint and was transported to the Perry County Jail awaiting bond to be set by a judge.  He is incarcerated.
    On 03-09-10 Franklin D. Brawdy, 26, of Chester, IL, was arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant.  He is incarcerated.
    Page 3 of 4 - On 03-09-10 Patina C. Glodo, 42, of Ava, IL, was arrested for Speeding.  She was released by posting a valid Driver’s License.
    On 03-12-10 Asante Antorio Monroe, 26, of Sparta, IL, was arrested on a Body Attachment for Contempt of Court.  The person arrested is incarcerated.
    On 03-13-10 Marty D. Abney, 25, of Cutler, IL, was arrested on a warrant out of St. Francis County, MO, for a Weapon Offense.  He is incarcerated.
    On 03-14-10 Joseph C. Eickmann, 50, of Pinckneyville, IL, was arrested on a Littering Prohibited ordinance.
    Chester Police Report
    30-year-old Kirk M. Taylor of Chester was arrested March 8, 2010 for Driving With License Suspended/Revoked.
    21-year-old Glyn A. Pritchard of Chester was arrested March 8, 2010 for Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
    26-year-old Franklin D. Brawdy of Chester was arrested March 9, 2010 on a Warrant.
    33-year-old Keith E. Donnell Jr. of Chester was arrested March 11, 2010 for Obstructing Justice.
    20-year-old Tiffany E. Duffey of Perryville, MO was arrested March 12, 2010 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Parking on Roadway, Improper Lane Usage, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
    20-year-old Timothy J. Michael of Chester was given a Notice to Appear on March 14, 2010 for Theft and Battery.
    19-year-old Brandon M. Woods of Chester was given a Notice to Appear on March 14, 2010 for Theft and Battery.
    20-year-old David A. Cross Jr. of Chester was given a Notice to Appear on March 12, 2010 for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
    45-year-old Andrew F. Miller of Chester was given a Notice to Appear on March 10, 2010 for Restraint of Drug, three counts.
    During the week the Chester Police Department responded to or issued: 17 Traffic tickets, 6 Warning tickets, and 2 Accidents.
    Sparta Police Report
    On 03-09-10 Tyler J. Glass, 22, of Fargo, ND, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property.  Was taken to RC Jail.
    On 03-11-10 Asante A. Monroe, 26, of Sparta, IL, was arrested on a Perry County warrant for Contempt of Court.  Also was arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer.  Was taken to RC Jail.
    On 03-11-10 Lauren A. Dodge, 18, of Sparta, IL, was arrested for Battery and Two Animal Control Violations.  Was given a city court date of 04-20-10.
    On 03-14-10 Eric W. Branson, 39, of St. Helen, MI, was arrested for DUI and No Insurance.  Was taken to RC Jail.
    On 03-14-10 Rachael S. Holt, 36, of Sparta, IL, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property.  Was taken to RC Jail.
    On 03-14-10 Timothy W. Tatum, 42, of Baldwin, IL, was arrested for DUI, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, No Seat Belt, and Endangering the Health of a Child.  Posted bond.
