On March 13 the Relay For Life team Let's Knock Out Cancer joined the Ellis Grove Fire Department to host a fish fry -- but not your usual fish fry.
The meal had fried whitefish and catfish, corn dogs, chicken tenders, hush puppies, onion rings, french fries, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, bread and drinks.
More than 380 people were served.
The Ellis Grove Fire Department has graciously allowed the Relay team to host several fish frys with them.
At the end of this meal is clean up time. The firefighters have a very structured way of cleaning up, where everything is like clockwork. There are people doing the dishes, putting up the tables, cleaning the firehouse floor and putting away the clean dishes.
A portion of the money raised from the meal and the donated money all goes to Let's Knock Out Cancer.
