Chester firefighters responded to the report of a small shed on fire on Feb. 9 at 3672 Palestine Road.

Chester Fire Chief Marty Bert told the Herald Tribune that when firefighters arrived, homeowner Timothy Hobeck Jr. was putting water on the fire with a garden hose.

Bert said a small homemade wood-burning stove, constructed partially out of a five-gallon bucket, had started the fire.

The fire was extinguished and firefighters were back in service at 11:20 p.m. after being paged out at 10:42.
