It took nine members of the Franklin Hospital Auxiliary only about two hours to create a garden of beauty at the hospital entrance.

The group gathered in perfect weather Tuesday afternoon to complete step two of the annual gardening project at the hospital.

"We have cleaned the garden for spring and prepared the earth in previous week," Mary Ellen Aiken said.

Aiken said the Auxiliary has taken care of the garden for past several years. The cost of supplies is split between the Auxiliary and the hospital. "The Auxiliary plays for the plants," she said. The hospital pays for the mulch.

Maintaining the garden will be a joint effort between the hospital grounds staff and the Auxiliary. Becky Lewis is the landscape chairperson for the Auxiliary.
