The Chester Women's Club recently held its last luncheon for the 2016-17 year and named Cathy Sauer as the 2017 Woman of the Year.

Sauer was surprised by her, husband, daughter and sister doing the ceremony, which was presented by Barb Welge. The luncheon also marked the 80th year for the Women's Club, having been founded in 1937.

The club members enjoyed a video of the past year by Nikki Aubuchon and Gwendy Garner gave the memorial ceremony in honor of MaryAnn Lutz, who passed away on July 14, 2016.

Linda Sympson swore in the newly-elected officers for the year 2017-2018 and presented each with a red rose.

Jane Stallman (Treasurer), Cathy Sauer (Correspondence Secretary) Joyce McGee (Recording Secretary), Sandra Starr (Second Vice President), Nikki Aubuchon (First Vice President) and Chris Bowles (President) were all sworn in as officers.

Chester Women's Club Scholarship Chairman Mary Ann Stumpe announced Trent Dorion and Ellen Blechle were the 2017 scholarship recipients.

Lawder handed over command to Bowles, who announced that she will see members back in September.
