Two Chester High School seniors are being honored by the Elks Club as Students of the Month for February.
The son of Charles and Tabatha Colvis, Chase's first step after graduation will be to attend McKendree University in Lebanon, where he has been recruited to play football for the Bearcats. His college major is undecided.
Chase has been busy in high school. He played football all four years and his senior year was named co-MVP of the team, as well as earning 1st Team All-Conference honors and All-South honors, both for his defensive play. A drummer, he played in the band all four years, ran track his first three years and played basketball as a freshman.
Chase's hobbies are video games, hunting and fishing.
The daughter of Mike and Roxanna Draves, Emma's plans are to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale next year to pursue a degree in environmental engineering.
Emma also has been busy in high school. She participated in the theater department her sophomore, junior and senior years; was a member of the WYSE/Academic challenge teams her junior and senior years; represented CHS on the Scholar Bowl team her final two years, was in the Spanish Club as a junior and senior, and was a member of Students Against Drunken Driving as a freshman and sophomore.
Her hobby is reading.
