The Chester Animal Hospital held a ceremonial groundbreaking on July 26 for a new, 4,000-square-foot facility on Taggart Lane in Chester.

Clinic owner Dr. Jodie Bainter said she and her veterinary group currently provide care to large and small animals as they will continue to do. However, currently and when the new facility opens, only small animals will be treated on site.

"Down the road", she said, "the hope is to make the facility appropriate for care of larger animals also."

Members of the Chester Chamber of Commerce were present for the groundbreaking event, as well as Mayor Tom Page.

"We are so appreciative of the support that Chester has given us," Bainter said.
