The 2019 Wii Bowling League has come to a close and the results are in for the final league standings. Nine teams competed this year and much fun and fellowship was had by all.
"We really don't do this to compete," said Donna Wolters, director of the Chester Senior Center. "We stress having fun and getting some exercise and good social time. We do keep records and give out awards in several categories at our end-of-the-year banquet, but the primary goal is to have fun as we play."
Altogether the were nine teams this season. The Chester Senior Center had two teams, the Steeleville Senior Center had three teams; the Gwin Apartments in Chester had one team, Sparta had two and the Manor at Craig Farm had one.
"As a matter of fact, The Manor at Craig Farm started the whole league," Wolters said. "They had the idea to play Wii Bowling. The idea has caught on over the years."
She said Chris Blechle from the Randolph County Housing Authority always furnishes the end-of-the-year T-shirts and the Manor at Craig Farms provides the trophies.
On Nov. 14, all Wii bowlers were invited to the Chester Senior Center for an awards supper. The Manor at Craig Farm supplied the hot dogs and hamburgers, while the Senior Center provided the venue and side dishes.
