U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Western Egyptian Economic Opportunity Council, located in Steeleville, has been awarded a $1,019,040 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its Head Start Program.
“This funding will help continue a tremendous local program,” Costello said.  “Early education is a key to future success in school and a great investment.  I will continue to work to provide sound learning environments for all children.”
