SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS:
Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to 605 calls for service in the month of December.  46 of those calls were generated by 911 calls.

Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force makes arrests

On January 9, 2012, members of Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force consisting of members from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Sparta Police Department, Steeleville Police Department and Percy Police Department arrested Kari Boyster, age 25 of Sparta and John Jetton, age 28 of Nashville for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, both were charged with a Class X Felony. The two were arrested after they delivered heroin. Both subjects are being held at the Randolph County Jail with Boyster’s bond being set at $50,000 and Jetton’s bond being set at $35,000.

Arrests made in residential burglaries

On January 15, 2012, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kenneth M. Falkenhein, age 19 of Steeleville and Robert R. Falkenhein Jr., age 31 of Steeleville for Residential Burglary.

TRAFFIC CRASH LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

On October 19, 2011 the Randolph County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 7:34 AM reporting a car hitting a mobile home on Rt. 3 in Rockwood.  Dana Hindman, 43 of House Springs Missouri was not injured in the accident.

Local man dies in motorcycle accident

 A Chester man died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Saturday evening.
David Straight, 53, was traveling westbound on Shawneetown Trail when he negotiated a curve to the south and ran off the right side of the roadway approximately 50 feet south of Greager Lane

Ellis Grove mobile home fire

Photos courtesy Kenny Roche On Saturday, August 6 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Ellis Grove Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire on Sulser Road in Ellis Grove. The home was consider a total loss, the cause is undetermined. Also assisting at the scene were Chester, Evansville and Prairie du Rocher Fire Departments
