Get George Portz together with a few of his friends and what you have is the toe-tappin’ all-star bluegrass jam scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, March 26 at the Southwestern Illinois College Belleville Campus Main Complex Theatre, 2500 Carlyle Ave. Tickets are only $6 each.
The show features the bluegrass, traditional country, bayou Cajun and gospel sounds of Portz and his “Roots of Bluegrass” Band. Joining Portz on stage for the show will be Illinois State Harmonica Champion Matt McElroy. Heather Stortz and The Dellamano Kids will turn up the twang with a Junior Fiddle Jam.
“Get your tickets early. Seating is limited and this show sells out each year,” reminded David Paeth, director of College Activities.
For more information or tickets, contact College Activities at 618-235-2700, ext. 5561, or toll free in Illinois at 866-942-SWIC (7942), ext. 5561.
