CHESTER - The Chester City Council will consider limiting parking to one side only on Swanwick Street based on requests from Chester residents.  Several areas of Swanwick Street are narrow, and traffic flow is affected when vehicles are parked on both sides of the street.  A brief discussion on the parking issue was held at the January 19 council meeting.
The overlay project for Swanwick Street will begin soon, so any proposed parking change should be made before the street improvement project begins.  The limited parking is being considered from German Street to Bem Street.
The Chester City Council welcomes comments from residents about the possible change.  Please call the mayor’s office at 826-5114 before February 1 with questions or comments about this safety issue.
