Mrs. Charlotte K. Crain, age 68, of Carrier Mills, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 in the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1951 in Saline County to the late Charlie and Mae Miller Lambert. On April 2, 1983 she was married to Martin (Marty) Crain and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1992.

Charlotte graduated from Carrier Mills High School and went on to get her bachelor's degree. She was an elementary school teacher in the Carrier Mills-Stonefort school system until her retirement.

Charlotte was a faithful member of the Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church until her health prohibited her from coming. She played the organ for the Sunday morning worship services for 33 years.

Charlotte was also very active in the church Sunday school and Bible school programs for many years.

She is survived by her cousins and caregivers. While she did not have any children, she loved her beagle dogs like children, and is survived by Daisy.

Her other "children" -- Dinky, Mickey and Minnie -- preceded her in death, along with her parents and husband.

Charlotte requested to be cremated. A memorial graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Delwood.

Her pastor, the Rev. Todd Krost, will officiate the service. Burial of the cremains will follow.

Her request was to have memorial contributions made to the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills in lieu of flowers.

There will be no visitation and family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the service.

Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with the arrangements.
