Helen J. Monroe, age 84, longtime Gallatin County resident, passed on this life peacefully in Ferrell Hospital. Helen was born in Uniontown, Kentucky on Oct. 31, 1935 to the late Walter and Rosetta (Hagan) Darnell.
Helen was first married to Jack Harrelson on Oct. 10, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 2003. She then married Tom Monroe, who survives. She was preceded by her parents, husband Jack Harrelson, and a sister, Brenda Monroe.
Visitation for Helen will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway.
