Shirley A. Cucchi, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Shirley was a secretary for Owens Transfer from 1963 until 1976. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.
She was born June 27, 1935 at Carbondale, Illinois, the daughter of Earl L. and Lillie A. (Simpson) Boner. She married Joseph G. Cucchi on June 20, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and he survives.
Shirley is survived by her husband of Du Quoin; one daughter, Allyce DeMarie of Du Quoin; one son, Joseph Gene (Cherri) Cucchi of Du Quoin; four grandchildren, Merino (Tracy) DeMarie, Lindsey Reams, Nikki (Shane) Sizemore and Landon Cucchi; six great-grandchildren, Gage Sizemore, Rian Sizemore, Lilli Reams, Kellan Reams, Jaden DeMarie and Khloe DeMarie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Phyllis Overton; and one great-granddaughter, Chesney Reams.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the church.
Friends are invited to make memorials to the American Cancer Society, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
