Raymond E. Canady, 88, of Chester, IL, died January 8, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, IL.
The son of Frank and Myrtle (Radford) Canady, he was born May 3, 1921, in Dent County, MO.
On June 12, 1943, he married Rosie Faulkner in St. Louis, MO, and she preceded him in death in 2006.
Ray was a retired timber man.  He was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Chester.
Survivors include one son, Danny (Debbie) Canady of Chester, IL; two daughters-Bonnie (Neale) Knop of Campbell Hill, IL and Donna (Kenneth) Batten of Chester, IL; two sisters-Mae Renner and Gladys Fortner, both of Chester, IL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother; and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL with Rev. Phil Keeton officiating.  Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL.  Friends may call from 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday before the service.
Memorials may be given to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc.
