Ruth M. Wiley, 97, of Sparta, IL, died February 24, 2010 at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL.
The daughter of John William and Bessie (Hurst) Craig, she was born September 24, 1912 in DeSoto, IL.
On May 4, 1933, she married Vernon Orlin Wiley in Halidayborrow, IL, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Ruth was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Sparta, IL.
Suvivors include one daughter, Yvonne J. Gill of Granite City, IL; two sons-Clement O. Wiley of Sparta, IL, and Michael D. Wiley of Marissa, IL; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, six brothers, and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Sparta with Pastor Gregory officiating.  Burial was in the Union Cemetery in Sparta.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Sparta.
