The Black Diamond Conference released its all-conference football selections on Tuesday, with six Chester players being honored after a 4-5 season this year.

Yellow Jacket senior Jake Golding was the lone First Team selection on the defensive side, coming after a season in which he recorded 66 tackles (30 solo) and 5.5 sacks. Sixteen of his tackles were for loss.

Seniors Chris Lang (RB) and Savion Smith (END), and junior Nick Heffernan (LB) all earned second-team selections, with Lang and Smith on the offensive side of the ball and Heffernan on the defensive.

Lang recorded 587 rushing yards on 89 attempts for Chester and had six pass receptions for 104 yards.

Smith had 13 catches for 273 yards, and also ran the ball seven times for 85 yards. Heffernan, after missing his entire sophomore season due to a broken neck, returned this season to lead the Yellow Jackets with 72 tackles (29 solo), six of which went for loss.

Junior lineman Brady Kelkhoff and sophomore quarterback Nick Meyer were named Honorable Mentions.

Conference MVP honors went to Eldorado"s Payton Price, while Carmi-White County"s Jake Simon was named the Offensive Captain.

Johnston City"s Luca Gualdoni was named the Defensive Captain.
