Red Bud defeats Columbia

Red Bud, Ill. -

Last week Red Bud earned a 42-35 win over Columbia in girls basketball action. Red Bud trailed by seven at halftime but took control when they went on a 12-0 run in the third quarter.
Scoring leaders for Red Bud were Kailey Schoenbeck with 14 points, Tara Hubert with 10, Tori Albert and Emma Posth with six apiece, Chelsea Koester with four and Megan Grohmann with two. Hubert led in steals with five and Schoenbeck grabbed 11 rebounds.
 In their next game Red Bud fell to Gibault by a score of 61-35. Gibault dominated play in the first half and took a 36-19 lead into halftime.
 Schoenbeck scored 11 points for Red Bud, Hubert put in eight, Posth had six, Grohman, Koester and Tiffany Henry scored three points apiece and Albert added one. Hubert led in steals with four and Koester had four assists.
 Red Bud wrapped up their week with a 63-29 loss to a tough Wesclin squad on Thursday. Wesclin did much of their damage when they outscored Red Bud 23-4 in the second quarter.
Offensive totals for Red Bud were Albert with nine points, Koester with six, Hubert with five, Posth with four, Hannah Stamm with three and Schoenbeck with two.
