Teddy Bear Care Fair teaches children important lessons
HARRISBURG -- Children from around the region had the chance Saturday to take a favorite stuffed animal to the doctor as part of Harrisburg Medical Center's Teddy Bear Care Fair. The Care Fair, in its third year at HMC, is an opportunity to help reduce children's anxiety about visiting the doctor or the hospital while giving them and their parents some helpful information.

Work begins on new Taco Bell in Du Quoin
Photo by Geoffrey Ritter Site work was ramping up Thursday for the new Taco Bell restaurant slated to open later this year at the Southtowne Shopping Center on Du Quoin's south side. The $1.3 million development will span about 2,500 square feet and create between 18 and 30 full- and part-time jobs. Restaurant entrepreneur John Moroney operates W & M Restaurant Co., which runs Taco Bell locations in both Illinois and Missouri. Moroney's business also operates the Taco Bell location in nearby Carbondale.
