Get ready to mark your calendars for the 2012 Relay for Life for Randolph County, which will be held on June 22 beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. at the Sparta High School.
Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
The next 2012 Relay For Life meetings will be on Tuesday, February 28 at the Sparta Hospital Women's Auxiliary Room, located at 818 E. Broadway in Sparta, Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m. and Team Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The team meeting is open to all Team Captains, team members, and those interested in getting involved in Relay.
There is always a need for for more teams, committee members, and sponsors.
Teams can register on the website: www.RelayForLife.org/RandolphIL. You can also find information about future meetings and fundraisers on the site.
2012 Goals include: Net income $68,000, 2012 Teams – 18, 2012 Sponsorship - $6800, 2012 Survivors – 75 and 2012 Luminaria – 450.
Right now there are 54 participants, 8 teams and they have raised $1,064.
