August Mobile Market serves 94 families

Volunteers unload free food items from the St. Louis Area Food Bank truck on Aug. 26 at the Cohen Recreation Area Complex in Chester.

Last month's regular mobile food pantry served 94 families, who received fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, fruit juices, and other staples.

During the last reporting period the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry, located at Koeneman Acres in Chester, served 224 households and 570 individuals. This year marks the 12th Anniversary of the CACFP.

Currently the pantry is accepting fresh produce from family gardens, peanut butter and jelly in plastic containers, canned meats and canned fruit. The next Mobile Market will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 23.
