Ninety-four-year-old Ray Mueller of Chester is a very good, helpful neighbor!
Last Thursday, as people all over Chester faced a bewildering amount of snow and ice on their properties, Mueller got out his trusty New Holland tractor and got to work clearing the driveways of several of his neighbors on Palestine Road. Some of those neighbors were stuck inside their homes, as 3-foot drifts blocked their exits, until Mueller cleared them out.
He refused to take any compensation for his hours of work in the bitter cold.
"This is what being a good neighbor is all about," he said. Not that anyone was surprised at this: Mueller is well known in Chester for being a good, kind and joyful Samaritan.
