Chester Public Library is joining libraries across the state in hosting actor, author and woodworker Nick Offerman in conversation with musician, author and hiking buddy Jeff Tweedy -- coming to us live from the wilderness.

Offerman and Tweedy will discuss Offerman's most recent book, "Where the Deer and the Antelope Play: The Pastoral Observations of One Ignorant American Who Loves to Walk Outside." The event will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27.

Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson in the hit TV series "Parks and Recreation," is also a New York Times bestselling author. Born in Joliet, Illinois, and raised in nearby Minooka, he now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Megan Mullally.

Joining him in conversation will be musician Jeff Tweedy, who inspired Offerman to use their walks and conversations in nature for "Where the Deer and the Antelope Play." Best known as the founding member and leader of Wilco, Tweedy is one of contemporary music's most accomplished songwriters, musicians and performers. Originally from Belleville, he currently lives in Chicago with his family.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, visit www.chesterpubliclibrary.com. For more information, visit the library's website or call (618) 826-3711.
