Ronald Wayne Bookstaver, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 at his residence.

Ron had been a vending company route salesman. He was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Du Quoin, and a member of the Du Quoin Elks Club.

He was born Oct. 17, 1940 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the son of Harry Fallon and Ruth Fern (Reeves) Bookstaver.

He married Suzanne Cross on Oct. 14, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Du Quoin, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2006.

Ron is survived by one son, Steven (Heather) Bookstaver of Du Quoin; a daughter, Jodi Morefield of Du Quoin; one sister, Judith (Bob) Opp of Tamaroa; and his grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Goodnight of North Carolina, Benjamin Morefield of Du Quoin, Carson Bookstaver of Carbondale, Emily Morefield of Du Quoin, and Steven C. Bookstaver of Du Quoin.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister, Debbie Lynn Bookstaver.

Per Ron's request, cremation rites were accorded.

Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
