Du Quoin mobile market distributes more than 7,000 pounds of food
The line of cars stretched nearly out of the parking lot and onto Washington Street Monday, as people patiently waited for the basic food supplies being offered by the Western Egyptian Economic Opportunity Center in their second "mobile market." When it was their turn, people drove up to where cheerful volunteers waited to deliver a box of staples into their trunks or back seats, food that had been delivered at 7:45 a.m. by a truck from the St. Louis Food Bank. As they began to drive away, many people rolled down their windows.
